Still Here

Winter always winds around too fast
And the treasure is always found much too soon
Yet when I wait for the right moment
I’m always much too late

The river carved a canyon
A dormant volcano destroyed a village
Before I had the courage to say
We have something good here

The regrets were first out of the gate though
A false start for a sprint
You didn’t think to pause either
Just took her hand and ran with it

It’s a bittersweet smile for you

But it’s still here if you need it.

When he cups your breast
Whilst thinking of her

When you ask for it shaken
And he gives it a stir

That’s how I know for certain
That life’s unfair.

Please be the hero of my story
I need saving from myself

Be the prince on a silver white stallion
I wish to use a spinning wheel

Kiss me with lips of magic
I have a craving for an apple

Drown me in the sea of your love
I think I might walk away

Cut the ropes and let me fall
I’m tying myself in knots here

Tell me how to leave the books alone
I’ve forgotten how to have fun

Give me the entire world
I’m clawing at the walls

Show me hard work isn’t everything
I’m on my way to my third job

Please solve my problems for me

I like it here in my bubble.

One for sorrow,
Two for joy,
Three for a girl,
Four for a boy,
Five for silver,
Six for gold,
Seven for a secret,
Never to be told

One for sorrow
Two for joy
He could only borrow
What he could destroy

Three for a girl
Four for a boy
She married an earl
Who mined in alloy

Five for silver
Six for gold
He was quick to pilfer
All that I could behold

Seven for a secret
Never to be told
Such as where on earth

Is all my gold?
