Homesick

Two homes

One houses productivity

The other love

Two families

One real

The other made of broken kids

Two sorts of pets

One bought for company

The other grows on dishes

Two feelings

Feeling lost in your childhood home

Despising every inch of your new one

University should be the time of my life

But I never feel I belong anywhere.

  1. I think I know what you mean. To me it was a feeling of no longer belonging at home, but I didn’t belong elsewhere (for me it was at university in Canberra). Lovely poem 🙂

  2. Sorry! I wasn’t sure how to respond to this comment, it’s not so much ‘belonging’ but I feel like a lodger at my parents now and wherever I am I’m wanting to be elsewhere. Basically wherever I call home I find frustrating and I suppose that translates to feeling a little lost. Thankyou for all your comments so far though! 🙂
